Doug’s Meatloaf
This recipe was inspired by a dear friend of Duck Creek Processing, Doug Smith.
Doug loved many things in life. He loved his kids and grandkids and would take them hunting, enjoying every second of it—even if they didn’t see a single animal. He never failed to share a toddy with his friends after a long day. He appreciated a good meal and having Oreos to dip in his morning coffee. And he loved helping people.
Doug helped us fix up the shop when we first opened and later helped us rebuild after the fire in September 2020. Most days during the season, you could find him out in the loading area or up at the desk, joking with anyone who came along. Doug was a vital member of our team, and we wanted to honor his memory by using parts of a recipe he created and sharing it with our customers.
We hope you enjoy it and share it with friends and family, just like he did—maybe even with a round of Canadian Hunter and Sprite.
